In the fall of 2000, My friend Nancy was told she had terminal cancer. I made plans to go to Wisconsin to see her, and meanwhile I found these images were coming to me, insisting that they come out. My father had died on Valentine's Day, 2000, and my mother-in-law had died the summer before. I had to learn to live without these dear ones, and to come to terms with death itself. These drawings gave me some peace of mind. They were an attempt to bring inner visions into visual reality.
