The Middle Pillar meditation is something I read about in a book by Israel Regardie, years ago. It involves lying flat on the back on a firm surface, or sitting or standing erect, then breathing in while imagining light gathering from the universe, which then enters the top of the head and moves down to the bottom of the feet. On the outbreath, the light is imagined coming out of the top of the head like a fountain, and flowing throughout the aura. This is repeated as long as desired. The idea is to feel cleansed and refreshed.
